Hello, and welcome to Purple Dragon Academy! I’m Keith, and in this video, I’m going to explain how the student in your life can earn credit toward graduating from high school while taking courses through Purple Dragon Academy.
It all begins with the homeschooling laws and requirements of your family’s home state.
Purple Dragon Academy provides homeschool support—and much more—to meet the needs of many different families and households, from experienced homeschoolers to families who are just beginning their homeschooling journey.
For example, a family may be comfortable teaching most subjects at home but need help with one or two particular courses. Maybe it has been years since Mom or Dad had to use algebra, and those skills have become a little rusty. That family can enroll their child in as few or as many Purple Dragon Academy courses as they need—from a single class to a full semester course load.
As your child completes courses through Purple Dragon Academy, you can document that work according to the homeschool recordkeeping requirements of your home state, just as you would for courses taught through any other part of your homeschool program.
We encourage you to contact us with any questions about course content, assignments, instructional hours, or other information you may need to complete your state’s required documentation.
When your child enrolls, Purple Dragon Academy will keep track of your state of residence so that we can design and document the student’s coursework with that state’s academic requirements in mind.
There may not be many differences between what one state expects from a ninth-grade English course and what another state expects, or between one state’s Algebra I requirements and another’s. Even so, we want to make sure that the education we provide is meaningful, thorough, and useful toward your child’s educational goals.
